Proposals for 2026 Spring Conference
April 11th, 2026
Submissions OPEN NOW until January 15, 2026
The 6th Annual Midwest Medical Humanities Student Conference,
"Resilience in Health Humanities"
will focus on discussing medicine, health, disease, healing, and patient care through an interdisciplinary approach in research, art, poetry, music, and other interactive activities.

We are looking for projects or topics that surrounds and provokes resilience in health humanities, although any kind of presentation, research, papers, or creative project related to Medical/Health Humanities are welcome.
Examples of topics but not limited to:

-How literature (novel, poetry, narrative) may influence the practice/education/understanding of medicine

-To what extent media affects the perception of healthcare

-Historical perspectives on different aspects of medicine/health

Keep in mind that medical humanities implore us to envision medicine/health from the lens of literature, history, philosophy, art, and other humanities and social science disciplines.

Please remember that we are focusing on "qualitative humanistic and socio-cultural context of health care
*in contrast to* the clinical/objective approach traditionally taken in biomedicine" (IU Indianapolis School of Liberal Arts MHHS).

Please refer to "Past Projects" to see what we have accepted in the past.
